In collaboration with Nicholas Buc, Eltham East students wrote our school song, "Purple and Gold". It is sung each week at assembly. When writing the song with Nicholas, students made reference to our school values, sportsmanship, the school community and the Eltham environment.
Since the premier of the school song we have commissioned other works with Nicholas. In 2012 the Spirit of Eltham was written to immortalize the Eltham Copper Butterfly and the projects to help preserve this unique animal. Student at EEPS feel very connected to this butterfly.
In 2014 the Friendship Song was written and captured the children's ideas about relationships and the effort to keep relationships happy and healthy.
In 2016 a new composition will be written to premier at the school concert celebrating our international links in Asia and Thailand in particular.
